Mani Ratnam's recent release Nawab is showing its power in Tamil version, though the Telugu version received mixed response. The makers got a huge boost when Super Star Mahesh Babu showered praises on the film. Sometime back rumors spread that Mahesh Babu rejected the role offered by Mani Ratnam in Nawab.

In the meantime it is coming out that Mani Ratnam's Office in Kesava Perumal Kovil Street, Mylapore, Chennai received a bomb threat call on Monday night. Police rushed in bomb detection and disposal squad which conducted a thorough search and found out that it was a hoax call.

Police now started investigation as to who made the hoax call. The film titled Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, starred Aravind Swamy, Vijay Sethupathi, Silambarasan, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aditi Rao, Prakash Raj in important roles. 

Sometime back members of a fringe outfit complained against Mani Ratnam alleging that few dialogues hurt their community and demanded the removal of those dialogues. 

While fans of Mani Ratnam are worried, others say it is a publicity stunt by the makers.
