Teja Couldn’t Bear The Pressure

Balakrishna's biopic on his dad NTR is the most talked in the industry. The moment Teja opted out of the project citing his inability to live up to the expectations and expressing fears that he wouldn't be able to do justice for the biopic, many wondered what transpired all these days which led Teja to come with this decision. Now rumors are spreading that K.Raghavendra Rao may direct the biopic. 

Sources reveal that one of the producer Vishnu Induri proposed Teja's name to fast track the project and Balakrishna too in the excitement gave the green signal as they felt he would do justice right after the success of the political thriller Nene Raju Nene Mantri. However inside talk is Teja from the beginning was uneasy with NTR biopic as he often went on record that since he spent most of the time in Chennai, he is more associated to TN's former CM MGR and just like Telugu people love MGR, he too adores NTR. 

Teja planned to complete both NTR's biopic and Venkatesh's project simultaneously. While working on script for Venky's project, he started clearing his doubts on NTR biopic script. But for some reason Venky 's project got shelved and from then on he spent more time on the biopic. 

In the meantime the biopic went to sets with Teja not having clear idea about the script and during the launch, he confessed that he wouldn't be able to do justice. He said one can take 6 films on NTR's life and it is difficult to decide what to exclude and what to include. 

Teja was unable to decide on the number of getups Balakrishna should use and planned to touch NTR's cine life on the tip in the biopic. Balakrishna once decides the director, gave Teja the free hand and didn’t insist on the number of getups etc but he just shared his views. However Teja overcame by pressure and started coming with different ideas every second confusing Balayya, writers and the producers. Finally Teja himself decided to opt out of the project.
