Sathyaraj, popular character artist down South, has finally tendered apologies to Kannada agitators to checkmate the brewing controversy on his derogatory comments delivered by him nine years ago. Sathyaraj's comments on Cauvery waters nine years ago, made Kannada people hurt. As we know, Sathyaraj essayed a crucial role in 'Baahubali 2'. Since the dubbed version of the film is hitting Karnataka screens on 28th of this month, the protesters have decided to stop the film's release seeking Sathyaraj's apologies. Now that the actor apologized Kanndigas, the movie may not face troubled waters in the region.

"I have got to know that what I had spoken during the Cauvery water crisis has created a lot of tension among the people of Karnataka. I'm not against Kannadigas or Karnataka." In support of that statement, the actor gave the example of Shekar, his assistant of over 30 years, who is a Kannadiga. He added, "Nine years ago, during the Cauvery protests, Tamilians in Karnataka were targeted and there were protests asking for stalling the release of Tamil movies. During a meeting of the film industry to condemn this, many people spoke out with passion against the move. I was one among them. In retaliation, my effigies were burnt in Karnataka," said Sathyaraj in a video message.

Directed by Rajamouli, 'Baahubali 2' has been made on Arka Media Works. The film is set for an all time record number of screens in Indian film history.
