There are some great orators who deliver extemporaneous speeches for hours about our traditions, culture and civilization while some more eminent authors write thousands of pages about the same.

However, Numismatists are said to be the real saviours and protectors of our cultures and traditions. 'Numismatics' is the study or collection of coins and bank notes and the people who collect coins and bank notes are called Numismatists. Usually their collection includes coins used by early man, medieval ages, coins used in various kingdoms, coins of British India and coins and currency of other countries.

As the union government made an ordinance that the penalty would be levied on the people who possess more Rs.10,000 of old currency notes, Numismatists turns panic with the ordinance. As part of their collection, they could have collected Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes of different years, different mints and so on. Further, they could have collected the old notes worth of more than Rs.10,000. What is the union government's take on Numismatists? Will they impose fine on the saviors of our cultures too? Wish that the government should make further amendment in ordinance so that Numismatists are not disturbed.
