When a section of Indian public are demanding for abolition and withdrawal of Rs.1000 and Rs. 100 notes to curtail the black currency flow in Indian economy, the move from RBI to introduced highest valued denomination can prove controversial and debatable.

A matter of fact finding available from data analysis states that Rs. 500 and Rs.1000 notes together account for 86.4 per cent of total money value circulated in India. Entry of Rs. 2000 notes can make even Rs. 500 notes valueless. For information purpose, the highest denomination printed by RBI till date is Rs. 10,000 in 1938, 1954 but were demonetized very soon in 1946, 1978 respectively.
