One of the all time best playback singers of India, P Susheela Mohan, got two rare achievements at the age of 80. The legendary singer of Tollywood convened a press meet yesterday to disclose her achievements.

P Susheela revealed that she was recognized by authorities of the 'Guinness Book of World Records' and 'Asia Book of Records'. The Guinness Book officially credited her for singing 17,695 since 1960 while Asia Book mentioned she had sung 17,330 songs. 

" However, I started singing from 1951 which was not recognized by the authorities. If the number of those songs was added, it goes up to 25,000 songs. Moreover, I happened to sing thousands of devotional and private songs," says P Susheela. She made her debut as a playback singer with 'Kannathalli' released in 1952. She won national awards for the songs 'Jhummandi nadam' (Sirisirimuvva) and 'Priye Charusheele' (Meghasandesham). She was also honoured with Padma Bhushan award by the Government of India and with Raghupathi Venkaiah Award by AP state government.
