Caste Factors Reason for Amaravati's Formation?

Senior Politician from the TDP, Jc Diwakar Reddy, has made some interesting comments on AP's capital Amaravati. In a recent media interaction, the MP has said that AP's capital was selected on caste equations. " Had the government not considered caste equations, it would have adopted Shivaramakrishnan Committee's recommendations on AP's capital," said JC. 

On the other hand, a leading English daily, today, has expressed suspicions Chennai's ecological disaster might be repeated in AP's capital. Amaravati will be on the right bank of the river Krishna and the problem is much of the new capital will be located on the land that was crisscrossed by the river earlier. The loss of greenery in 33,000 acres of land and concretization would lead to ecological disaster. Maybe this is the high time the AP government had taken all measures to built a clean and green city that would be appealing to everyone and all.
