The former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu state, Jayalalitha's bail plea was rejected by the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday, 7th October. Initially, there was a strong buzz that she was granted conditional bail and Jayalalitha's supporters celebrated as well. However, the verdict came within no time.

Jayalalitha was sentenced four years jail and Rs.100 crores penalty last month by the court. Top lawyer Ram Jethmalani on behalf of the former CM, was made on medical grounds as the former chief minister has claimed to be acutely diabetic. Her lawyer said that she is also suffering from blood pressure and heart-related ailments. But his arguments have become futile attempts. Jayalalitha is likely to go for supreme court to get a bail.
