Mandolin Srinivas Is No More

Uppalapu Srinivas aka Mandolin Srinivas breathed his last on 19th September, 2014 at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai due to liver failure. He had a liver transplant some time ago and the complications arose on the evening of 18th September and it was a complete failure of liver this morning. He was born on February 28,1969 at Palakollu of West Godavari. 

Srinivas has earned great fame as a mandolin player of the carnatic music. He could play many ragas and invented many gamakalu in carnatic music. He was honoured with Padma Sri award by the government of Indian in 1998. He also received many more awards such as Sangeetha Ratna, Rajalakshmi Award, Sangeetha Bala Bhaskar etc. Cinejosh pays condolences to this great musician.
