Why Congress Contesting in Nandigama?

The sitting MLA of TDP from Nandigama,  Tangirala Prabhakara Rao passed away even before the swearing in ceremony. The bye elections for this assembly constituency will be held on September 13. It is a common practice that if any MLA or an MP dies, other political parties do not rope in any candidate to contest the elections, as a token of respect on the leader who dies.

Strangely, Congress Party has decided to contest in the elections and the nominations were also filed on behalf of the party. And so it is inevitable that there will be elections for this constituency for sure. But then, what makes the the Congress Party taking this daring decision. Analysts say, "Chandrababu's government has done nothing for the past three months during its administration. Moreover, CBN could not keep his word of loan waiver, monopoly in temporary capital's selection etc. So, the Congress Party miht have decided to test its luck in the elections. Though they may not win the election battle, they want to get a respectable defeat in these bye-elections."
