The period of 1950s and 60s is regarded as the golden era of tollywood. All the stars and technicians in this era devoted themselves on cinema and made many master pieces. Most of the actors then used to do overdose of performances, that we hardly receive them well today. However, there was one great actor who had done method acting in his movies. His natural acting can even enthrall the present-day audiences. And the great performer is none other than Viswa Nata Chakravarthi, Sv Rangarao.

Though he was a character artist, he mesmerized the audiences with his magical performance as Nepala Mantrikudu in 'Pathalabhairavi' and Ghatodgajudu in 'Mayabazar'. He dominated all other characters with his performances in both of these industry hit movies. He got best actor award for his performance in Keechaka role in 'Narthanashala' in Jakartha. SVR was born on 3 July, 1918 and was died on 18 July, 1974. Today is the birth anniversary of great SVR.
