Controversy on 'Nannu Dochukunduvate' Song

One of the eminent lyricists of tollywood, Padma Bhushan Dr.C.Narayana Reddy made his debut to tollywood as a songs lyricist through the song 'Nannu Dochukunduvate' from the movie 'GULEBAKAVALI KATHA'. This song went on massive hit those days and its melody is eternal. However, some of the Telugu pundits criticized that C.Narayana Reddy made some lyrical mistakes in this song. They pointed out the following lines of the song; 'NAA MADIYE MANDIRAMAI NEEVE OKA DEVATHAVAI' These lines were sung by heroine Jamuna to NTR. They criticized that  if the word 'Devatha' was a feminine gender, then how could Narayana Reddy used it to praise the hero. However, 'Cinare' came up with excellent defense for this argument. As per him, to refer gods and goddesses, 'Devatha' can be used as a common gender and it was revealed by ancient epics. Satisfied with his clarification, critics stopped arguing on this topic.

BOTTOM-LINE: Cinare is celebrating his 82nd birthday on 29 July,2012. Cinejosh wishes him many happy returns of this day.
