Bollywood’s Bhai is gearing up for a big comeback, and he’s picking his favorite festival to do it. Salman Khan has teamed up with director Vamshi Paidipally for a massive pan-India film produced by Dil Raju, and the team is eyeing Eid 2027 for release. The film is already on floors, with Nayanthara playing the female lead. For Salman, Eid has always been lucky, Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kick, the list is long. After a quiet phase at the box office, he’s clearly betting on the festive crowd to bring back the magic.
But this Eid won’t be a solo party. Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit with Prabhas is also targeting the same window, setting up one of the biggest box office face-offs in recent years. Prabhas will be seen as a cop for the first time, and that alone has fans excited. Tripti Dimri is the female lead, and the early buzz around Spirit is solid, especially after Sandeep’s Animal turned into a monster hit.
Bollywood reports suggest that both camps are confident and neither wants to blink first. Distributors say Eid can handle two big films, but with these names, it’s going to be a full-blown war for screens. Prabhas isn’t new to clashes with Bollywood giants. In 2023, his Salaar took on Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki on Christmas, and despite SRK’s strong run, Salaar pulled bigger numbers in many territories. That win proved Prabhas’ pan-India pull is real. Now, Spirit going up against Salman’s Eid release will test that again.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that “Eid 2027 could be historic if both stick to the date.” Meanwhile, Dil Raju’s camp says Salman’s film is a full commercial entertainer tailor-made for the festival audience, while Sandeep Reddy Vanga has hinted that Spirit will be intense, raw, and very different from Prabhas’ past roles. So, Eid 2027 is shaping up to be a blockbuster battle. Salman Khan is looking to reclaim his festive throne, and Prabhas wants to prove his dominance once again.
