Shraddha Kapoor in Talks to Join Vicky Kaushal In Mahavatar

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is reportedly in discussions to star opposite Vicky Kaushal in Mahavatar, the upcoming mythological epic directed by Amar Kaushik. The Maddock Films production is expected to go on floors after June if talks with Kapoor are finalized. Earlier, Deepika Padukone was considered for the role, but industry sources now say Shraddha Kapoor has emerged as the top choice for the film. 

A source close to the project told Bollywood Media that Shraddha fits the brief perfectly, adding that the team wanted someone who brings star value and presence. The Vicky-Shraddha pairing is being seen as a fresh combination, and the makers are confident it will resonate with audiences.  

Vicky Kaushal will play Parashurama in Mahavatar, with the film being described as one of Maddock Films’ most ambitious projects. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Mahavatar will be his next venture after his successful work on the Stree franchise, where he previously collaborated with Shraddha Kapoor. The director-actor duo is also set to reunite for Stree 3, which is currently in development. If Kapoor signs on, Mahavatar will mark another big-ticket collaboration for her with Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.  

Producers are excited about Shraddha Kapoor’s potential involvement in Mahavatar, feeling her star power would complement Vicky Kaushal’s portrayal of Chiranjeevi Parashurama. Shraddha Kapoor is currently busy filming Eetha with Randeep Hooda, though the release date for the film remains under wraps. If confirmed, Mahavatar shooting expected to begin after June. Official announcements from Maddock Films on the final cast of Mahavatar are awaited.
