From OG 2 To Devara 2 Can They Generate Massive Pre Release Buzz

The trend of franchise films and sequels has been gaining momentum in Telugu cinema, with OG 2 and Devara 2 being the latest additions. Both OG and Devara opened with impressive numbers, registering some of the biggest openings in Tollywood. However, they struggled to sustain the momentum, with mixed reception from audiences despite their strong opening days. 

Devara, starring Jr NTR, had a better overall run, earning over ₹500 crore worldwide and becoming a clean hit. The film's sequel, Devara 2, has been officially confirmed by the team on the first anniversary of the film's release. On the other hand, OG, starring Pawan Kalyan, faced uncertainty, with reports suggesting that the sequel might be shelved or delayed. However, Pawan Kalyan's production company has clarified that there's no update on OG2 yet. 

The success of sequels like KGF and Pushpa 2 depends heavily on how well the first part connected with audiences. To create genuine excitement for OG 2 and Devara 2, the makers will need to address the shortcomings of the first installments through compelling promotional campaigns and trailers.

The big question is whether OG 2 and Devara 2 can create massive pre-release buzz like other successful sequels. While fans are expecting big openings, the level of excitement among the general audience remains uncertain. Prabhas' Salaar is also in a similar situation, with fans rewatching scenes and the film on OTT or TV, but it's unclear if it has enough craze to draw big crowds when the sequel is released.
