Peddi vs Theatres Rental Issue clash on

Ram Charan's Peddi directed by Buchi Babu Sana is releasing on 4 June 2026. In the meantime, TFCC and Producers Guild are at logger heads over revenue sharing and rental system which impacted the recent releases.
In the meantime, speculation is on whether the issue be resolved before the release of Peddi. Vijayender Reddy, president of the Telangana Controllers and Exhibitors Association, nearly 300 single-screen theatres in Telangana are pushing for this transition. He said “We have nothing to do with a particular film, big or small. Declining footfalls and rising ticket prices have pushed standalone theatres to the brink. We need a revenue-sharing model to survive,”
He added "Exhibitors are willing to consider a 60–40 sharing ratio in the first week for major releases and are open to negotiating percentages, but are firmly opposed to continuing the rental system."
Vijayender Reddy said “We have a meeting scheduled soon tentatively on 8 or 12 May”
