Balakrishna considered for Simon character in Coolie

Balakrishna considered for Simon character in Coolie. Super Star Rajinikanth's action entertainer Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is racing for a spectacular release on 14 Aug 2025. The film features Nagarjuna in a powerful role of Simon.

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj spoke highly about it and Rajinikanth even went on to say that he dreamed of doing that character but Lokesh had Nagarjuna in the mind for the stylish antagonist.

Now, inside talk is Nagarjuna was not the first choice for the Simon character. Lokesh Kanagaraj planned to rope in Natasimha Balakrishna for the powerful role. However, when he narrated the character to Balakrishna, he rejected it outright saying that he will not do negative roles in other heroes films and he would consider only if the character is positive.

Following this, Lokesh went to Nagarjuna who readily agreed to do the character. Coolie also stars Aamir Khan in a powerful cameo and Pooja Hegde doing a special song.
