Mani Ratnam according to sources will be directing versatile hero Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram for his next.
A source shares It’s a simple Chennai-based love drama centered around a cop. Naturally, it’s a love story between a police officer and a city girl.”
The source continues “This time, Mani Ratnam is making a film purely in Tamil. It is not a pan-India film. However, the makers do plan to dub it in Telugu and Hindi after its release.”
Sharing more details, the source added “The music will be composed by none other than the global music maestro A.R. Rahman,” the source said. “Cinematography will be handled by the acclaimed Ravi K. Chandran.”
The source added “Filming for this Dhruv-starrer is expected to begin in September 2025 and will wrap up in just 60 days, by February 2026. Interestingly, it is also said to be the most modestly budgeted film of Mani Ratnam’s career.”
Rukmini Vasanth will be the female lead in the film. Currently Rukumini is starring in NTR-Prashanth Neel's action entertainer Dragon.
