In a bid to resolve the Babli issue, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has convened a meeting of  chief ministers of  Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra on August 2.

As reported earlier the  all-party  delegation led by Chief Minister K  Rosaiah met the PM on July 26 asking  him to intervene  to  find  a  solution.

According to a press release  from PM’s office the  chief  ministers  of  Andhra  Pradesh  and  Maharashtra have  been  informed about this  meeting.

Reacting to the invitation extended to him from the Centre, Rosaiah thanked the prime minister for arranging the meeting of the chief ministers of both the states on the contentious issue. He said this showed the commitment of the Prime Minister in resolving the issue.
