The Justice Srikrishna Committee received representations from several people's representatives at Burugupudi village in Korukonda mandal, during its visit to East Godavari district on Tuesday.

The panel will submit its report keeping in view, the best interests of the people of Andhra Pradesh,"  according to V K Duggal, Member-Secretary of the committee.

The committee members enquired about the role played by the villagers during the separate Andhra agitation in the year 1972. They asked the villagers why they were seeking a United Andhra Pradesh now when they had agitated for a separate Andhra in 1972.

The villagers replied that the state government had concentrated on developing Hyderabad more than any other place after the separate Andhra agitation. They said a United Andhra Pradesh would help the people grow.

The panel members enquired about the migration of people from Andhra to Telangana and vice versa, as well as about literacy, unemployment and women's development.
