The division bench opined the court would not interfere in the administrative matters of the Election Commission, constituted to conduct elections.

In his petition Narayana Swamy urged the court to direct the Election Commission to immediately stop the notification for the by-elections.

He also expressed fears that if the by-elections were held in the Telangana region, it would create law and order problem.
