Former minister and MLA Konda Surekha on Monday stated the Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders were behind the violence at Mahabubabad railway station during the Odarpu yatra launched by Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Talking to reporters at Media Centre on Legislative Assembly premises, Surekha said TRS leaders were frustrated by the  success of Odarpu yatra in Khammam district and were scared of losing their hold over the constituency, and hence  resorted to violence.

Blaming TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao, Telangana Joint action committee convener Prof Kodanda Ram and Harish Rao as responsible for the violence, stone pelting and firing in Mahabubabad, she demanded the arrest of these leaders immediately.

Recalling the TRS chief's statement that if Telangana becomes a reality, the Chief Minister’s post would be given to a Dalit, Surekha sought to how KCR tolerated JAC convenor Prof Kodanda Ram, a non-Dallit. He could have given the post to Gaddar or Krishna Madiga.

She sought to know how Prof Kodanda Ram came to be connected to the Telangana movement?

If KCR has any guts, he should travel in Telangana without any police security, she demanded.

While opposing schools set up by Andhra people, the TRS chief has been sending his grand children to Andhra schools, she alleged.

She demanded disbursal of money KCR has been collecting in the name of Telangana people for the bereaved families of victims, who died for the cause of Telangana.
