Members of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission met Chief Minister  K Rosaiah on Wednesday and refuted the charges of irregularities in public appointments which surfaced in recent times.

Speaking to the media after meeting the Chief Minister, the Appsc members said ``there is no truth in the allegations made against them with regard to the appointment of Group I and Group II candidates. The charges pertained to Appsc appointments made prior to 2008.’’

The members clarified that they were not in the board when those postings were made. The Appsc is functioning in a transparent manner and some vested interests were casting  aspersions on them.

With the members washing their hands off the canard, now the buck is passed on to Appsc Chairman Y. Venkatram Reddy.

The chairman and secretary of the Appsc were not present during the hour-long discussions with the Chief Minister.

As reported earlier, Venkatram Reddy slammed the allegations of corruption against him. The chairman defending his case said, ``I am being  targeted by some envious persons.’’
