There is no need to declare a ‘state of economic emergency’ in the state, as there is no crisis to warrant such a situation in the state, stated Chief Minister K Rosaiah.

At the end of his two-day visit to the district on Tuesday, the Chief Minister denied reports that the government had abandoned nearly 108 programmes and schemes due to paucity of funds.

He said the government would continue all schemes launched by his predecessor Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for the poor and backward class people.

The state government has earmarked Rs 8 crore for drinking water needs in each district, Rosaiah said and told his officials to focus attention in problematic villages to provision of water through tankers.

Indeed, there was no funds crunch for the Pavala vaddi and the pension schemes for the aged, the chief minister asserted.
