ESL call to tackle cyber crimes effectively

Expressing concern over the growing number of sophisticated crimes, Governor E S L Narasimhan on Wednesday called for evolving steps to combat cyber crimes.

Addressing the Defence Management College in Sainikpuri after awarding degrees to colonels who completed Defence Management Course, he said cyber crimes affected national security system, banking, communication network and financial transactions.

He said the cyber criminals and terrorists have underworld relationship and this would pose a grave threat to the country.

Cyber terrorism may pose a challenge to the nation some day, he pointed out.The investigators should have the knowledge of computers to investigating cyber crimes, he said and advocated creation of cyber ethics.“Only inculcating values in life will help curb cyber crimes,” he pointed out.
