Embattled Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik was on Monday advised by Siddiqui family to admit his ‘mistake’ and apologise and then go ahead with his scheduled marriage to ace tennis player Sania Mirza.

According to Dr Shams Babar, a family friend of the Siddiquis, they have no objection to Shoaib getting married to Sania. Dr Babar also warned that Shoaib and his parents will suffer if he does not apologise and divorce Ayesha.

Dr Babar was accompanied by the Siddiqui family’s lawyer W Rahman while he was speaking to media persons.

He said Ayesha Siddiqui no longer wants to live with Shoaib, but only wanted to be free from her alleged marriage to the Pakistani cricketer.

The Siddiqui family had given enough proof to the police to proceed against Shoaib. He also denied that Ayesha had sought any monetary compensation from Shoaib.

Asked why Ayesha or her father were not coming before the media, he said Ayesha was suffering from depression and anxiety while her father was a diabetic and not keeping well. ''When time comes, she will come before the media,'' he added.
