Babu services recalled

Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Monday paid rich tributes to former deputy prime minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 103rd birth anniversary at Basheerbagh and termed him a champion of the downtrodden people.

Primary Education Minister Manikya Vara Prasad Rao, Minister for Health Danam Nagender, BC Welfare Minister Mukhesh Goud, former Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandaru Dattatreya and balladeer Gaddar were present at the programme.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu paid floral tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram at NTR Trust Bhavan and recalled his services. Naidu urged the government to confer Bharat Ratna on him posthumously and sought the revival of the SC/ST Commission for uplifting Dalits.
