Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Saturday laid the stone for a Rs 32-crore reservoir at Korlagantavaripalli in Sadhum mandal. The reservoir is expected to meet the drinking water needs of Punganuru.

Later, Rosaiah inaugurated a reservoir constructed on Garghea River at Papireddypalli in Sadhum mandal. The reservoir was built at a cost of Rs 21.64 crore.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for 672 Indiramma houses sanctioned for Sadhum mandal and 133 kv substation at Somala to be built at a cost of Rs 2.35 crore.

Rosaiah distributed cheques worth Rs 100 crore for self-help group women sanctioned under Indira Kranthi scheme with an interest rate of 25 paise.

Earlier, the Chief Minister reviewed the development works with the officials and district leaders at Padmavathi guest house. He said the government would distribute 1.41 lakh acres to the landless on April 14 to mark Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.
