Tension prevailed in the area for some time as the Left party leaders had an argument with police on their arrest.

Condemning the arrest of their leaders, the members raised slogans against the police. The members said the peace rally was aimed at restoring normalcy and national integrity in the trouble-torn areas of the Old City.
