Cabinet expansion put on back-burner

Thanks to the communal riots in the Old City of Hyderabad.  Much of the infighting  among the Congress legislators for ministerial berths has gone into oblivion with the law and order situation  taking top priority in the State.

The Cabinet expansion, which many legislators were looking forward to, may now be deferred due to the communal riots.

Chief  Minister  K Rosaiah speaking to the reporters after the Assembly was adjourned sine die on Tuesday said he had to postpone his trip to Delhi  in the wake of the communal flare-up in the Capital.

“There is no hurry. I will go to Delhi after the law and order situation is restored in the Old City,” the  CM observed.

This may be a disappointing news for many aspirants but it will be a blessing in  disguise for others who can get some time for lobbying. On the other hand, it gave the CM an opportunity to assess the performance of some ministers.
