Views on expunged items is punishable: Speaker

Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday asked the print and electronic media not to publish or broadcast expunged words or comments.

The Speaker told newspersons on Saturday that airing or publication of comments or words, which were expunged from the Assembly records, will attract contempt of House privileges.

If the print or electronic media publishes or airs such views, the Speaker warned that the government would initiate action against such media. The government would issue show-cause notices against such channels or papers seeking explanation. On the basis of such explanations, the government would initiate action.
