Several Telangana activists led by Joint Action Committee staged a protest in front of the Board of Intermediate office here on Tuesday demanding that the answer scripts of Telagana intermediate students be valued in Telangana region and must not be evaluated in Coastal or Rayalaseema regions.

The protestors include JAC convener Kodandaram, BJP senior leader Vidyasagar Rao, TDP leader Erraballi Dayakar, KCR’s  daughter Kavita and others. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the secretary of Board of Intermediate, Balaramaiah urging him not to dispatch the answer scripts of Telangana Intermediate students either to the Coastal Andhra or Rayalaseema regions.

The secretary, after accepting the memorandum, said he will respond to their request in four or five days. ``I will take up this issue  with the Government.Only after consulting with the higher-ups I will be able to clarify,’’ the  secretary added.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that many Telangana students wrote 'Jai Telangana' on the top of their answer scripts and such writings on the answer scripts would be invalild. The JAC leaders insist that such papers should not be rejected as invalid altogether.

Educational analysts feel that if the Board of Intermediate allows such demands, then in future, many more such demands would  come up for consideration. Moreover, there is the possibility that teachers favourably inclined to the Telangana movement may award marks generously disproportionate to the candidates' standard for writing Jai Telangana on the answer scripts.
