DS not a contender for Nizamabad-Urban?

In a shocking revelation on Friday, Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas  announced that the Congress will field its candidates from all the constituencies vacated by the Telangana  Rashtra Samiti leaders. However, Srinivas himself  has not taken any decison whether to be in the race from his home constituency Nizamabad-Urban, from where he contested unsuccessfully in 2009.

According to Congress circles, the PCC chief may contest for a Legislative Council seat and not take chances in the byelections to the seats which have fallen vacant following the resignations of TRS members from the Assembly recently over the Telangana issue. The Speaker has accepted their resignations.

If the by-elections are held in these constituencies, the TRS leaders hope to cash in on the situation by seeking a mandate in favour of the party's candidates as they stood  for the Telangana cause.

The Congress sources have made it clear that PCC chief D Srinivas is unlikely to contest from Nizamabad Urban seat which fell vacant after the resignation of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Lakshminarayana.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi received a jolt on Friday after the PCC president made the announcement that if the by-elections are held to the constituencies vacated by the TRS, the Congress Party would field its nominees in all the seats.

According to political analysts, it  was the Congress which lured the TRS leaders to resign on the Telangana  issue and now the party leaders are keen on grabing the vacant seats electorally.
