The CPI sought an adjournment motion on the comments made by Andhra Bank Managing Director RS reddy against savings bank accounts of the downtrodden and the impoverished.

The BJP introduced a motion on the Government’s failure to take up the relief and rehabilitation works in flood-hit districts on the banks of river Krishna.

The Opposition benches urged the Speaker to allot time for a discussion on these issues. However, the Speaker said the House has to discuss the Budget on priority basis.

He told the Opposition members that he would allot time for taking up discussion on the contentious issues after a general discussion on the Budget.

As Opposition members stuck to their guns, the Speaker turned down the demand for adjournment motions.
