The Joint Action Committee of Osmania University students on Tuesday decided to boycott the Srikrishna  Committee which will take the opinion of a cross-section of people of Andhra  Pradesh before submitting its report to the Centre.

Meeting at the OU Arts College here, the JAC leaders felt the Congress High Command is not keen on forming separate Telangana and that  is the reason why the Government gave a 10-month time for the panel to submit its report.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Vinod K Duggal, the member-secretary of the Srikrishna Committee, who arrived here on Tuesday to seek office space and other office infrastructure before holding consultations with the general public and leaders in general to elicit opinions on Telangana formation and on United Andhra .

JAC leaders gave a call to Telangana leaders and people not to cooperate with the Srikrishna panel and those who cooperate with the panel would be treated as 'Telangana Drohis' (traitors).

In a bid to take the Telangana stir into the rural areas, the JAC entrusted the responsibility of getting the resignation of the MPs and MLAs with the local leaders and people.

Fearing the loss of an academic year the leaders have preferred to carry the movement  forward in a peaceful manner.
