Annoyed by the behaviour of a few Congress MPs, representing Telangana region, in Parliament on  Monday during the President’s address, Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi directed her political secretary Ahmed Patel to reprimand  them.

The six Congress MPs from Telangana dressed in black stood up after President  Pratibha Patel began her address and displayed placards showing ‘Jai Telangana, Jai Congress,’ even though they did not resort to any sloganeering.

Soon after the address of Vice-President Hamid Ansari, an  English version of the  President’s speech, the recalcitrant MPs were pulled up by Ahmed Patel. The protesting MPs include Madhu  Goud Yakshi,  G Vivekanand, Ponnam Prabhakar and others.

Disturbed by their behaviour in Parliament Patel said ``the Telangana leaders have set a bad precedent.  Now MPs from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions will try out this trick, in their bid for competitive protest.’’
