JAC bandhs to be 'Gandhian' hereafter

Having failed to garner adequate public support for Telangana statehood, the  Osmania University students' Joint Action Committee have decided to desist from calling for future shut-downs.

Responding to an appeal from small-time business persons, the JAC has announced that all agitations, hereafter, will be peaceful. The JAC leaders said ``from now on, we'll contininue agitations in a peaceful manner but will  not indulge in any acts of violence. The more the violence we created, the more negative impact it will have on us. We wish to follow the Gandhian way."

According to some sections, the efforts by Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Tirupati Rao have paid off. He has deputed some individuals for talks with the students to desist them from calling frequent bandhs and thereby lose one academic year.
