Hyderabad, Jan 25: TheTelugu Desam Party on Monday alleged there were widespread malpractices in the implementation of the Rajiv Arogyasri Health Insurance Scheme and demanded that the government take corrective steps immediately.TDP spokesperson Kodela Sivaprasada Rao told newsmen that patients were told to go in for surgeries even when they were not needed so that the doctors made money from the government aid for the scheme.

He said 400 gullible young women underwent vasectomy surgeries in three hospitals of Guntur. These facts were uncovered by vigilance department officials, he revealed.Rao called for stricter supervision to avoid misuse of the scheme so that genuine patients could benefit.
