Telangana TD working president Revanth Reddy on Saturday demanded the state government to provide an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of those who committed suicide for the sake of Telangana statehood during the statehood movement that started during December 2009.

Speaking to media person after paying tributes at the statue of Srikanth Chary, at LB Nagar crossroad, who committed suicide on December 3, 2009 demanding statehood for Telangana, Revanth Reddy said that the government should also provide a government job to a person from the Telangana martyrs family, a double bed room house and three acre-land. He demanded the state government to observe December 3 as the Telangana Martyrs Day which would be a tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives for Telangana. He said that Srikanthchary’s sacrifice had intensified statehood movement across Telangana. He said that the state government should honour the families of all those who sacrificed their lives for Telangana state.
