New Delhi, Jan 8: Union Law and Justice Minister and Incharge of Congress Affairs in Andhra Pradesh Veerappa Moily on Friday made an appeal to TV, news and media channels to show more restraint and use discretion while providing news to the public.He made these comments in the wake of a news aired on a Telugu television channel suggesting that the death of former chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy was the result of a conspiracy. He told mediamen to act in a responsible manner and present information to the people without bias.“The media should be very careful before giving telecasting or publishing any news.

There is no need to arouse passions among the public by exaggerating facts and sensationalising news,” he said.He urged the people not to heed to rumours and resort to violence by taking the law into their hands. The channel also quoted Exiledonline.com, a Russian origin online news website which reported the sensational plot behind YSR's death.Two television channels in the state telecastesd the story without verifying facts from exiledonline.com, which alleged that the Ambanis were involved in the YSR helicopter crash. This fumed the sentiments leading to attacks on Reliance shops & offices across Andhra Pradesh.
