Kakinada, Jan 6: Chief Minister K Rosaiah will unveil a life-size bronze statue of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, installed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh in the neighbouring Yanam district of Puducherry as part of the Union Territory's tourism festival on Wednesday.According to CM office sources, the Chief Minister will also participate in a series of programmes in East Godavari district. The Chief Minister will inaugurate a private engineering college, a building constructed for a women's society, a school and a drinking water scheme for people in the Tallarevu constituency.

Later, he will participate in the inauguration of the tallest statue of Bharatmatha, along with Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh and Chief Minister Vaidyalingam in Yanam district.Puducherry Revenue Minister Malladi Krishnarao, who hails from Yanam, told mediapersons the bronze statue of YSR was installed in recognition of his services to the people of Yanam by supplying increased water from the existing 19 cusecs to 33 cusecs and for providing 55 acre of land for the construction of balancing reservoir.A cultural programme will be organised in this connection in which cine-artist Brahmanandam will be felicitated.
