New Delhi,Dec 26: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) called for the resignation of Andhra Pradesh Governor ND Tiwari after a sleaze tape was telecast on Friday on a Telugu television channel allegedly depicting the Governor in a compromising position with three women.Senior CPI(M)leader Sitaram Yechury interacting with the media  here on Saturday  said that even though the Centre had sought a report on the sex tapes, Mr Tiwari should resign,"Given the unsavoury allegations, it is unbecoming of him to continue. He should immediately resign on grounds of morality." He added that the state unit of the party had already demanded the Governor’s resignation.

The women’s wing of the party, All India Democratic Women's Association, also sought the Governor’s immediate resignation, saying that Mr Tiwari should be put behind bars even if a fraction of the allegations are found to be true.AIDWA president Subhasini Ali has written to President Pratibha Patil on the issue, demanding a thorough investigation into all aspects of the allegations including collusion of other government servants and officers and also the granting of favours to those accused of supplying young girls.
