New Delhi/Hyderabad,Dec  17: Pressing their  demand  for a united  Andhra  Pradesh, the forum of  Mlas, MLCs and  MPs from Andhra   and  Rayalaseema regions  met  Union  Finance  Minister Pranab  Mukherjee in  New Delhi on Thursday. The  Finance Minister assured the Mlas,  MLCs and MPs  that  "no injustice will be done" and views of all sections will be taken into  consideration before taking  any  final decision.Reviewing the meeting with the  forum of  Mlas, MLCs and MPs of United  Andhra, Pranab  said  unless a resolution  is passed  in the assembly  on the  Telangana issue the  Centre will not process the  formation of separate Telangana.

In the case of the three smaller states formed during the BJP regime earlier, the veteran Congress leader recalled that resolutions were passed in their respective assemblies on the formation of separate states. He made it clear that  the  High  Command  will not impose its will on the party Mlas  against their stand on the statehood of Telangana. To this effect,  he  said that there is no precedent of issuing a whip on the passing of resolution in the Assembly for statehood. The political analysts are concerned about the fate of the government  if the resolution fails through in the assembly. In a  dramatic  turn of events, Union Home  Minister  P Chidamabaram  revealed  that Telugu Desam Party headed by  Chandrababu  Naidu  had written to the Centre expressing their support for the  statehood  of  Telangana. This startling revelation caught the TDP chief off guard, even as he has been blaming the Congress for the present unrest in Andhra Pradesh. The convener of the  forum, T G  Venkatesh urged the fasting MPs and  Mlas  in the State to call off their fast and leave for Delhi to impress upon the High command on the Telangana  issue.
