Hyderabad,Dec 15:Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday assured a team of Telugu Desam MLAs from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions,that he would take a decision on the resignations of legislators after consulting legal experts.The Speaker indicated this when a delegation of MLAs led by Telugu Desam Politburo member Ashoka Gajapathi Raju urged him him at his chambers to accept their resignation demanding a united Andhra Pradesh.The Speaker is understood to have explained to the delegation about the formalities to be adopetd in the process and his efforts to obtain legal opinion from the Advocate General.Gajapati Raju admitted the political situation in the state is volatile following the en masse resignations of the legislators.

``We have asked the Speaker to verify the resignation letters so that the process goes to its logical end at the earliest.Reddy has assured us that it will begin in a couple of days," he said.Earlier,the TDP MLAs staged a dharna in front of C-block at the Secretariat protesting the lathicharge against Sri Krishnadevaraya University students and seeking action against Director General of Police Charu Sinha.Raising slogans against the Government and Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, they demanded withdrawal of forces from the campus.
