AP's new capital may be named "Amravati"

The new capital of Andhra Pradesh may be named 'Amravati".
Although the State Government is yet to make an official announcement, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly decided to name the new capital as 'Amravati'. The government is also proposing to take public opinion on it and the process has already begun with the TDP legislators.

Amravati, in Sanskrit, literally means 'abode of immortals' and one of the districts of Maharashtra is named as 'Amravati'.
