Hyderabad, Dec 11: Demanding a unified Andhra Pradesh, the MLAs and MLCs of the Telugu Desam Party belonging to coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions boycotted the Assembly proceedings on Friday.Raising slogans against the Centre and State Government, they blamed the Congress Party for precipitating the affairs in the state.The TDP leaders said Congress President Sonia Gandhi had taken a unilateral decision without taking into consideration the needs of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema people.

They also charged that the Congress Government was playing with the lives of people by sowing seeds of animosity between the coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana people.They also found fault with the Centre’s decision and termed it as ‘hasty’ since the decision was taken without considering the interests of coastal and Rayalaseema people.Later, the legislators staged a dharna in front of the Gandhi statue on the Assembly premises raising slogans against the Government and Sonia Gandhi.
