Hyderabad, Dec 8 : Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday convened a review meeting with Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Director General of Police RR Girish Kumar and Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Prasada Rao over the prevailing law and order situation in the state, particularly in Hyderabad in the wake of incidents of violence caused by the activists of Telangana Rashtra Samithi.The unrest on Osmania and Kakatiya University campus’ by agitating students also figured at the meeting.Following the incidents of sporadic violence triggered by rumours that Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhara Rao had slipped into a coma on Saturday, the state government seemed to ensure that no such incidents were repeated.

According to reports, it was decided to strengthen the police presence in the city by deploying Rapid Action Force personnel alongside the local police in sensitive areas of the city. Nine companies of RAF have already reached Hyderabad on Tuesday.The administration on Tuesday clamped Section 144 which bars the gathering of five or more people, in Karimnagar and Warangal district.The government’s moves are seen as a precautionary step to quell disturbance which might arise as reports of the TRS chief’s health taking a turn for the worse came in from the Nizam’s Institute Medical Sciences.
