The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to complete the EAMCET counselling process by August 31 by following the Presidential Order.

Addressing media persons at the State Secretariat, Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore and Advisor to Government of AP (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar said that the Telangana government is also expected to respect the decision of the Supreme Court. They said that the Telangana Government was unnecessarily creating a controversy out of the nativity issue. On the apex court's decision, Prabhakar added that the Telangana government does not have a choice but respect the apex court's decision. He clarified that the AP government does not see bearing students' fee as a burden. He added that the issue cannot be divided between 10 districts (of Telangana) and 13 districts (of AP) because it affects students of both states.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the decision of the apex court and said efforts have to be made for the smooth conduct of admission process.
