Hyderabad,Nov 24:The Chief Minister,Mr K Rosaiah, feels that besides talent and eligibilty, one should have luck to get plum posts either in the Congress party or in the government.Mr Rosaiah was the chief guest at a function got up at the Gandhi Bhavan, the state headquarters of the Congress, here for presenting the Kommineni Seshagiri Rao Memoral Award to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman,Mr Chakrapani, and to the Chairman of the West Godavari Disrtict unit of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchat Raj Sanghatana, Mr Chinnamalli Rayudu. Adressing the gathering after the award presentation, Mr Rosaiah felt that posts will not come in the way of all the talented and eligible leaders. Besides talent, luck also should favour them to get posts,he felt.

He was responding to the comments made by Mr Naagundi Satyanarayana, the state chairman of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Sanghatana, that justice was not done to the late Kommineni Seshagiri Rao, though his contribution to the Congress was well-known to everyone in the party.Despite several years of struggle a talented leader like the late Kommineni Seshagiri Rao was not properly recongnised by the party, he said.Responding to these remarks, the Chief Minister said that talent and eligibility alone would not help one scale heights either in the party or in the government. “One should have the luck too to get posts or get recognition by the party leadership,” he said without making any references.

However,Congress circles here began interpreting the Chief Minister’s remarks in their favour. While some have jumped at conclusions that he was referring only to the Kadapa MP,Mr Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, known as Jagan, others are of the opinion that he made an oblique reference on himslef. “Mr Rosaiah had never dreampt of ascending the Chief Minsiter’s Gaddi. It is only luck that favoured him,” a senior leader in the Congress commented.
