CM, Sridhar Babu enacting "political drama": TDP

TDP MLA Deveneni Uma Maheshwara Rao on Friday alleged that change in the Legislative Affairs portfolio was a "drama" jointly enacted by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and minister D Sridhar Babu.

Speaking to media persons here, Deveneni alleged that Sridhar Babu was stripped of his portfolio by the Chief Minister only to give boost to his image in the Telangana region. He said the move was aimed at downsizing stalwarts like S Jaipal Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha and K Jana Reddy.

Deveneni alleged that there were at least 20 major mistakes in the State Reorganisation Bill and it could not be debated without rectifying them. He said if Jaipal Reddy was sincere towards the Telangana, then he should have easily pointed out those mistakes. He asked the Chief Minister to point out the mistakes to the Centre and return the Bill to the President of India.

The TDP leader alleged that Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were dividing the State to recover losses in other States in next elections. He predicted that both or either of them would contest the next elections from Medak or Karimnagar district.
